Addressing the press in Kiambu town on Monday, County senator Kimani Wamatangi expressed concern over the state of insecurity in some parts of the county.

He asked the county administration and the police to work together and ensure residents are safe, stating that they have adequate resources to boost security.

“My appeal is to the county government and the police to ensure Kiambu people are safe, we have had many cases of insecurity lately,” said Kimani.

The senator noted that the county leadership has a responsibility to ensure every resident is safe, calling for more security surveillance saying it is the only way criminals will be kept at bay.

The lawmaker on the other hand urged locals to ensure they support security initiatives being formulated by the security organs.

Kimani further indicated that provision of security is a responsibility of every person, adding that locals should be vigilant and report lawbreakers.

“Let us give the police support as they ensure we are safe. Security begins with each of us making sure they are safe,” added the lawmaker.

The senator also called on security agencies to intensify patrols as candidates continue to write their national examinations, saying there is need for security officials to ensure the ongoing examinations are not interrupted.
