Former Fafi Member of Parliament Major Aden Sugow Ahmed has urged Garissa County residents to register in large numbers in the ongoing voter registration exercise countrywide.
“I urge Garissa County residents to come out in large numbers especially our nomadic communities scattered around neighbouring counties such as Tana River and take advantage of this important exercise,” he said.
He further urged the residents to elect responsible leaders for the Senate post in Garissa County in which he is among the contestants in the August 2017 elections.
“I take this opportunity to request Garissa County residents to use this votes very wisely and choose able and active leadership for the county especially the Garissa County Senate seat,” he added.
The voter target by IEBC for the new registration for Garissa County is 40,000 people.
