On the fateful day of the tragedy, Waruguru chose to stay a bit longer at the Lecheila Clinic to help the doctors attending to patients.

The good news is that she saved at least 30 children.

Hers is a true revelation that you do not need medical training to save lives during a tragedy but thanks to Kenya Red Cross she had acquired first aid skills during a training.

She is now a heroine for saving many lives of children who could have perished in the tragedy.

Her good gesture made President Uhuru Kenyatta and Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui recognize her during a memorial service to honor victims of the tragedy.
