Ward administrators and chiefs in Nyaribari Chache have been called upon to ensure they embrace 'Nyumba Kumi' in order to enhance security in the area.

According to Nyaribari Chache Mp Richard Tong’i, the administrators need to ensure the residents know the advantages of embracing 'Nyumba Kumi' as that will guard them against any possible theft cases in the area.

He issued the directive following a series of incidents in which various people have been involved in the robbery and said that he will see to it that the suspects are arrested and arraigned in court.

“All we want to see is a safe community and that can be easily achieved if we get to know each other well and take security responsibilities on our hands,” he added.

This, he said, has seen chiefs provided with motorcycles and funding to facilitate effective service delivery.

On the illicit brew, the legislator said the government has given each chief an ultimatum to develop a work plan on how to get rid of the brew, that he noted are ravaging families and impacting negatively on development in the county.

He was speaking while addressing a group of administrators in Richard Tong’i social hall.
