A section of parents from Gesima Ward have appealed for security agents to arrest some people who are allegedly practicing gambling with students.

Speaking to this writer on Tuesday at Gesima, the parents said that the practice has been a menace in the area, and needs immediate address.

Led by Hezron Nyangina, they said that they have been reporting the matter to security agents but nothing has been done so far to end the practice.

“We have been reporting the matter to security agents but no steps have been taken, but now we need an immediate action since the act has been rampant in this place,” said Nyangina

Nyakwana Orogo, an elder also said that the increase of theft in the area is as a result of the practice, since young boys steal to get some cash which they can use in the practise.

“There are minor cases on our desk that we have forwarded to the chief about this practice that has increased crime, we are expecting the response from the chief as we are setting measures on how to curb this,” said Nyakwana

They also accused some teachers who practice the same with their students during holidays.

“There are some teachers who have been spotted practicing gambling with students, we urge our administration to investigate them," said Mosoti Paul,  also a parent.
