Kiambu County Governor, William Kabogo, has called on the area MCAs to approve the budget to purchase the ward and sub-county administrators vehicles.
The governor said the issue has in the recent days been politicized by some MCAs and area leaders citing the nominated MCA, Mary Mwangi who spoke ill of the issue in Thika.
Kabogo said that the controversy that administrators will have power over the MCAs is misguided and false; the administrators are chosen by the county public service board while the MCAs are voted in their respective wards.
“Administrators will never be strong or powerful as MCAs,” said Kabogo .
He added that the vehicles will be for the benefit of the public as they will be used to deliver services to the public in the grass roots.
He stated that he will not sit and watch as the administrators struggle due to lack of vehicles to reach the deep far residents while the county government has funds that just need approval from the MCAs.
Kabogo, who was speaking in Gatundu South on Friday, said that the local leaders are using the supplementary budget that was to be passed by the legislators to hit on him saying that he is accountable and can account for all funds used by his government.
