Mbita Member of Parliament, Millie Odhiambo has asked president Uhuru Kenyatta to accept that he was misadvised on the presidential debate.
The president snubbed the much anticipated debate which was conducted on Monday, July 24, at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa in Karen, Nairobi.
His main challenger of the National Super Alliance (Nasa), Raila Odinga, attended the debate and got a chance to convince Kenyans to vote for him in the upcoming August 8 polls.
After the debate, Uhuru noted that he skipped the debate because it was a waste of time adding that he had nothing to debate with Raila.
However, the ODM legislator who seemed not to have been satisfied by Kenyatta’s excuse to snub the debate, insisted that the president should admit he was ill-advised not to attend the debate.
“It is good at times to admit that you goofed by not showing up. You got wrong advice. You swallowed it hook line and sinker,” Odhiambo through her social media account.
A section of Kenyans and political leaders across the political divide also expressed mixed reactions after Uhuru gave the debate a wide berth.
