The Film and Classification Board South Nyanza branch has given a stern warning to those selling and distributing pornographic and pedophile contents.
Speaking on Wednesday at his office, area coordinator Hilary Kilemi said his department will crack the whip on errant businesspeople who have been allegedly selling pornographic audios and visuals at Kisii town and its environs.
He said those found guilty will have their businesses closed down, besides being arraigned in court to answer charges of selling pornographic contents.
“It has been brought into our attention that some rogue business people are selling pedophile contents to people in this town. I want to promise that we will crack a whip to those who have ventured into that illegal business,” he said.
“We will close down businesses of those found with the same content and subsequently arraign them in court for contravening various KFCB Acts and that will be done for sure,” he said.
This comes barely a day after police in Kisii town arrested a man who is believed to be the owner of a video room that has been showing pornographic content to young children at Mwembe estate.
“The recent incident in Mwembe should be a wakeup call for all of us. Remember good morals are obligation of everyone in the society and that is why the public is required to feed us with information,” he said.
