The two major political rivals Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga are yet to face each other again in the repeat presidential elections slated for October 26 after the August 8 presidential election results were nullified by the Supreme Court.
Uhuru however has some advantages over Odinga .Uhuru is the sitting President. It is historically known that a sitting president is likely to be re-elected as recorded in many African states.President Uhuru Kenyatta has large number of voters in his strongholds. In the cancelled elections, Kiambu county registered about 1.1million voters who turned out almost perfect. Contrary to Odinga's stronghold Kisumu county which recorded half a million voters.Development projects. President Uhuru Kenyatta in history of Kenya has set significant developments in his reign. Main being the SGR which has left a good section of Kenyans praising his government. Other development projects he initiated and accomplised are Electricity in the rural regions, Cancer scanning machines in hospitals.Odinga's subsequent losses in the presidential race has negatively impacted on some of his supporters. Atleast a section of Nasa supporters has lost hope in Nasa leader Raila Odinga following his subsequent loses arguing that he will 'always lose'.Odinga's opposition has always been considered to be 'Full of Propaganda'. The now and then claims by Nasa that they use to influence their audience and push further their information has been criticized by a section of Kenyans. This is an impetus to UhuRuto government towards the ballot.
