AFC Leopards have vowed to hold on to their tactician Robert Matano amid growing interest from champions Tusker Fc.

The Brewers are understood to be keenly monitoring the former Ulinzi Stars coach with a bid to having him replace out of favor manager George 'Best' Nsimbe who has since been suspended by the club.

However 'Ingwe' who signed Matano after a  turbulent campaign that saw them part ways with at least four tacticians are adamant that Matano is going nowhere.

Club chairman Dan Mule revealed that the no-nonsense coach had promised them that he is committed to the club and will not leave

"We are aware that Tusker is interested in him, we've spoken to him and he assured us that he won't leave, he has even begun plans for 2017 season," he said.

Mule added that they had however put up contingency plans should Tusker succeed in their quest to have their former manager back.

"As a club, we've to be ready for anything. We have his contract ready but he says he has issues to sort out with his former employer (Bidco United) before signing the contract. In the event he decides to leave then we will have to get another person but we hope he stays to continue with the good job he's doing," he added.

Matano has already steered Ingwe to the GOtv shield in his three-month stint and is keen on helping the 13-times KPL champions finish strongly in the current campaign.
