AFC Leopards are working tirelessly to settle Sh. 2.2 million owed to their former head coach Ivan Jacky Minnaert for unlawful termination of contract, club Secretary General Oscar Igaida has confirmed.

The 13-time Kenyan Premier League winners found themselves in a court battle with the tactician who finally won the case to have him paid for unceremonious dismissal that saw terms and agreement of his contract breached.

It’s from this that local governing body Football Kenya Federation FKF on April 6 wrote to Leopard’s management inquiring about the efforts made to settle the arrears.

In response through Sportpesa Premier League portal, the club’s Secretary General Oscar Igaida confirmed AFC Leopards are in the process of settling the money and has so far paid half a million.

Minnaert, a Belgian tactician, was fired by AFC Leopards on September 2016 following a streak of poor run of results that saw the club finish out of the top eight in the league standings last campaign.
