AFC Leopards will shift camp to Kakamega as they prepare for the new Kenya Premier League season.

The team, which will represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup has been training in Kiambu’s Thogoto TeACHERS College in Gikambura, Kiambu County.

The team moved camp because of the good state of the Thogoto grounds.

According to Club secretary Oscar Igaida, they have lined up friendly matches in Western Kenya.

They will then plan for their clash with archrivals Gor Mahia in the Super Cup match later this month.

“The purpose of shifting our training to Gikambura is to take advantage of the area’s good environment to learn more about our new players before shifting the camp to Kakamega for friendly matches in readiness for the Super Cup scheduled for January 28,” Igaida said as quoted by the Nation.

Ingwe will face Fosa Juniors of Madagascar in their CAF match, even though the team might face financial challenges if Sportpesa does not make a U-turn on their sponsorship plan.

The betting firm, which was their title sponsors, withdrew from the deal, protesting the government’s increase in the tax they have been paying.
