AFC Leopards will await a decision by CAF on the venue they will use for their CAF match against Madagascar’s FOSA Juniors FC.
This comes after confusion in their choice for the first round of the match.
Initially, the Leopards had indicated they would use the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos for the match but changed later on to Bukhungu Stadium.
The inspection by CAF was delayed because of lack of funds to cater for the inspection trip by CAF.Eventually, it was carried out, and even though the federation was impressed, it still awaits an official communication in writing over the matter.
The club has also been hit with a financial hitch, after the withdrawal of Sportpesa as their main sponsors.
This has left the club with a huge burden of hosting their opponents this weekend in the first leg.According to AFC’s Dan Mule, they have communicated with the government to help them bridge the deficit and will wait for their response.
Sportpesa withdrew their services after a tax increase, which was introduced last year by the government. The two team are in search of new sponsors, even as news indicate that Sportpesa might be willing to come back on board again.
