Gotv shield winners AFC leopards on Wednesday beat Ugandan Champions Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA) 2-1 in an encounter at the Machakos stadium.The first goal was scored by Joseph Kuria at the 25th minute and four minutes later Tom Ikara of the Ugandan counterpart was denied a chance to equal the advantage.Jaffery Owiti pulled the second one back at the 88th minute to double the advantage. However, Herbert Achai pulled a consolation goal for the Ugandans in dying minutes of the game.
AFC Coach Robert Matano who was upbeat about the performance said that the match was a good preparation ahead of Sunday's league opener, Super Cup.
“It a game like any other and not a do or die fixture for us. It is a pre-season fixture and we will approach it that way. We are preparing the team for the season and the match is good for us,” Matano said speaking on the super cup match against Gor Mahia on Sunday.
KCCA had earlier lost to Gor Mahia in an encounter that ended 4-2 and won against Tusker FC 1-0.The Ugandan giants will on Friday take on Sofapaka at the Narok stadium in Narok during their last match on Kenyan Soil.
