The Afraha stadium which is undergoing renovation will be ready by May 22.
South Rift regional coordinator Wanyama Musiambo said the stadium which will host President Uhuru Kenyatta for this year’s Madaraka Day celebrations will be complete and ready by the the said date.
He added that all the ongoing construction works have been timed to end at least two weeks before June 1.
Speaking when he inspected the ongoing works at the stadium, Musiambo dismissed claims that the stadium will not be ready before the June 1 event.
"We have 10 contractors on site, working day and night to ensure the stadium is ready by the 22nd of this month and there is no reason for alarm," said Musiambo.
"Afraha will be ready and will host Madaraka Day and those doubting should wait and see," he added.
