At least Sh400,000 was stolen from Homa Bay governor Cyprian Awiti's house, after criminals posing as police officers raided his home in Hardy estate, Nairobi.
Jewellery and other valuables were also stolen by the robbers who claimed to be from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), according to the Star.
''Two employees of the governor have been arrested for questioning as police suspect that there was collusion between the criminals and security guards at the residence,'' said the paper, Wednesday.
The ODM governor and his family were not at home during the 8pm attack.
The incident comes barely two weeks after thugs broke into Kilifi governor Amason Kingi's home, and made away with a laptop, television, among other valuables.
