Siaya governor Cornell Rasanga has contracted Senator James Orengo and Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo to defend him in an election petition challenging his election.
According to Rasanga, the two lawyers will deal with the petition filed by former Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo at the Siaya High Court.
Gumbo is seeking to nullify Rasanga's election.
Rasanga has exuded confidence that Orengo and Amolo will win the case.
Orengo and Amolo appeared for Opposition leader Raila Odinga in the presidential petition at the Supreme Court.
The ODM leader successfully petitioned the declaration of President Uhuru Kenyatta as the winner of last month's polls.
"If I have Orengo and Amolo, how do you expect him (Gumbo) to win the case?" Rasanga asked his supporters during a rally over the weekend.
He asked Gumbo to withdraw the case and devote more effort to galvanising support for Raila who is facing a fresh contest with Uhuru.
