Weeks after the popular endorsement of Ali Korane as the sole flag-bearer for the Garissa gubernatorial position by the Abuduwak community, the clan has now focused its influence on other elective seats in the county.
The community has now said it will identify their favorite parliamentary aspirants for Garissa Township, Fafi constituency and Balamba by September this year.
The three named constituencies are predominantly occupied by the Abuduwak community.
The clans Sultan Dhekow Sambul stated that the other positions include county women representative and senator, adding that the community elders would give directions on who the community should pick and offer their support.
In Garissa Township constituency, the incumbent legislator Aden Duale faces stiff competition from Abdi Yarre of African National Congress and Siyat Osman of KANU, who apparently hail from the Abuduwak clan.
The clan is one of the largest voting blocs in Garissa county.
