Former CCU party leader and Machakos gubernatorial aspirant, Wavinya Ndeti, has vowed to give governor Dr Alfred Mutua, a run for his money.

Wavinya who beat Dr Mutua's deputy Bernard Kiala in the just concluded Wiper party primaries, decamped CCU, for the Kalonzo Musyoka-led party.

In the primaries held Monday, Ndeti garnered 299,312 votes against Kiala's 4,663.

Kiala had obtained a court order barring Wiper from conducting the primaries, arguing that Wiper and Wavinya's CCU had an agreement to give her a direct ticket, leaving Kiala in the cold.

Speaking after she was announced the winner, Ndeti who is a former assistant minister said she would send Maendeleo Chap Chap Party (MCCP) leader, home.

Mutua who decamped Wiper and formed MCCP, seeks to defend his seat in the upcoming August 8, elections.

"And I am telling you Mutua, watch the space,'' said Ndeti, as she addressed the press in Machakos town, Monday.

''Thank you Machakos residents for turning out in large numbers to nominate me as Machakos Wiper Gubernatorial Candidate in the just concluded primaries. I promise that I will provide Real tangible change in every Location. I will ensure that what the people of Machakos want is actualised.God bless you all and have a great Labour Day,'' she added, as the country celebrated May Day.
