Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya has rubbished reports doing rounds on social media claiming that he has defected back to ODM, months after joining the Jubilee Party.
In a Facebook post published on his official page on Wednesday, Mvurya maintained that he will be defending his seat on a Jubilee Party.
"I will defend the Governor seat on a Jubilee ticket on August 8. The information being spread using my photo is not true," the governor noted.
A Twitter account complete with Mvurya's name and photo tweeted on Wednesday announcing that the governor had ditched the Jubilee Party.
"Jubilee promised us goodies but we have been shortchanged. It is never too late to go back home for the interest of my people. Accept my apologies," the account tweeted.
Governor Mvurya's office has since disowned the Twitter account, observing that it does not belong to the county chief.
