Former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga was on Wednesday received by the Kanu leadership.
This is after he ditched president Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party.
His nomination papers were rejected by Jubilee party alluding to integrity matters.
Njenga and sued the party alongside the electoral commission (IEBC) saying their decision interfered with his political rights.
“This party belongs to everybody. It is the daddy and mummy’s party, not like the otherone where they looked at my papers and asked me to wait for someone to be called. Does a party belong to one person?,” he wondered.
Speaking at the Kanu office in Nairobi, the Laikipia senatorial aspirant expressed confidence that the Gideon Moi-lead party would take over in 2022.
“Those eyeing for presidency should wait, Kanu will produce the president,” he said.
It is however not clear if he has already submitted his nomination papers.
