Barely a week after KANU declared its support for President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election bid, the leader of the independence party Gideon Moi has come out to rubbished Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
The Baringo Senator warned that the Ruto narrative may change come 2022. DP Ruto has been very candid that after President Uhuru Kenyatta he will take over the instruments of power.
"Let me tell you of a secret unknown to you, forget the calls of 2022, the Swahili say 'Kutangulia sio kufika' just know that I have told you today," said Moi.
Moi has repeatedly attacked DP Ruto, saying that he is misleading the people of Rift Valley.
The KANU chairman revealed this on Sunday when he unveiled the senatorial bid of former Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo, under the KANU ticket, in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
Moi was accompanied by Chama Cha Mashinani leader Isaac Ruto and West Pokot Senator John Lonyangapuo.
However, politicians allied to DP Ruto have promised to support his bid in 2022.
