The difference between my upbringing and President Uhuru Kenyatta's upbringing is like day and night, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has said.Speaking during a press conference in Mombasa on Tuesday, Joho said he was brought up in a poor family and sometimes had to hawk mandazis to pay for his education and support his family. The governor said that though Uhuru has unleashed the whole State machinery on him, he was not going to be intimidated."All this is happening to me because I am asking hard questions. I have raised the issue of privatisation of Mombasa Port which will see business at the port diminished affecting many residents. I can't understand why the port should be relocated to Naivasha in the name of a dry port," said Joho."KRA, KNEC, CID and others are investigating me from all angles with the intention of intimidating me but I'm not going to allow that to happen. I will be steadfast and stand with nothing but the truth. I hear even the Ministry of Health is investigating me to ascertain the genuineness of my birth certificate. I am also told they even went to Tononoka where I studied in nursery to investigate me. I don't know what they are looking from me," he added. The county boss further said he will appear before the Coast CID headquarters on Wednesday to record a statement as directed.Joho has been accused of forging his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education. He, however, has insisted that his papers are genuine, adding that the Jubilee government will not deter him from persuing his agenda.
