NGO Board’s Executive Director, Fazul Mahamed Just a day after NGO Board’s Executive Director, Fazul Mahamed sent a two paged deregistration letter to the Kenya Human Rights Commission, another NGO is facing a similar ban.
The African Center for Open Governance(AfriCOG) is the next casualty of the NGO board.
According to the board, AfriCOG has been operating illegally, Fazul has already written to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI) head Ndegwa Muhoro stating that the NGO should be shut down and its directors arrested. He also ordered that the accounts should be frozen.
However, claims are rife concerning Fazul's drastic measures on the NGOs with a section of political pundits stating that the move is in a bid to try to and stop the KHRC and AfriCOG from tabling a presidential petition before Friday.
