The Wiper Democratic Movement - Kenya has announced commencement of party primaries, across the country.

Through secretary general Omar Hassan, the Kalonzo Musyoka-led party said it would kick off nominations April 18, 2017, in three counties of the coastal region.

The counties include Mombasa, Kilifi and Taita Taveta. This excludes Lamu, Tana River and Kwale, where aspirants received direct nomination certificates due to lack of competition.

The nominations will later be held in Makueni county April 22, a day after the Jubilee Party holds the same, nationwide.

Speaking in Mombasa, Monday afternoon, the Mombasa senator warned that the party would not tolerate any cases of violence.

Wiper party rival, and at the same time partner, ODM, already kicked off its nominations.
