After the National Super Alliance (NASA) postponed the swearing in of their leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka, Monday will see the country's attention shift to Nairobi where the Supreme Court is set to give a report on why it upheld the election of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The court will deliver the detailed verdict explaining why they legitimised the election despite raising several concerns especially from the opposition NASA.

It is a norm that after the court rules on presidential petitions, judges are given 21 days to give a detailed ruling.

Last month the court upheld President Kenyatta’s election unanimously although no finer details were given for the decision.

During the Monday session, each judge will give details as to why they unanimously chose to uphold the contested Presidential election.

Among the issues that cropped up during the petition and which the judges are expected to address include whether the electoral commission should have conducted fresh nominations before the repeat poll and whether the agency erred in declaring the final Presidential results without holding elections in 25 constituencies.
