Just a week after former French and Arsenal striker Thierry Henry visited the country; another great foobtballer has landed in Kenya.

Former Sevilla FC legend Frederic Oumar Kanoute will be the toast of the first ever LaLiga Experience in Kenya on Saturday (today).

This will be during the live screening of the El Clasico in Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi.

The retired Mali striker will be star attraction during the formal launch of the partnership today from 3pm during the live viewing of the Real Madrid versus Barcelona match.

"We are delighted to welcome Kanoute, modern-day legend of the game, to Kenya for the launch of the LaLiga Experience in Kenya," said Joyce Kibe, SportPesa's chief marketing officer.

Kanoute, now a LaLiga ambassador, made history in 2007 when he became the first footballer born outside the continent to be crowned the African Footballer of the Year.

"His career progression is an ideal example of SportPesa's football development mission we have for Kenya," added Kibe.
