According to the AG, his critics are ignorant of the law and selfish.

On Monday, according to Citizen TV the chief legal advisor to the government was speaking in Nairobi during the launch of government initiative toward legal aid where he launched a scathing attack against lawyers who are always ready to comment on anything.

“They comment on every public issue. The more ignorant they are on the subject matter, they louder they comment in the media and on the social media websites. They never seem to keep their mouths shut on issues they have no idea about,” Muigai said.

In addition, the Professor of Law said that he wondered how a senator would be such ‘ignorant’ of the law.

“Some Senator says there is nothing like treason law, that it is colonial Law. This is a man sitting in the Senate?” the attorney general wondered.

“The essence of the law is to protect constitutional order, a lawyer who says they have practiced for forty years and there’s no law to protect the constitution from illegitimate overthrow in another forum,” the AG added.
