Attorney General Githu Muigai.[Photo/Nation]Leaders from Mandera have demanded an apology from Attorney General GithuMuigai.
This is after Muigai claimed that the County passed NASA's People assembly motion last year.
The Ward Representatives, who support President Uhuru Kenyatta, noted that they wanted the AG to retract the allegation.
They noted failure to apologize will lead to legal action.
This came after the office of Muigai filed a petition seeking to stop 15 counties from enacting the motion.
Led by county assembly speaker Mohammed Adan Khalif the MCAs said that Muigai's claims were malicious.
"Our attention is particularly drawn to the allegations by the state law office that the Mandera county assembly had on
December 9 passed a People's Assembly motion, through an affidavit by Charles Mutinda on behalf of the AttorneyGeneral,”
"The county assembly of Mandera, therefore, would like to refute the allegations made against us," said Mohammed. He stated that the allegations could hurt the reputation of the Economic Freedom Party (EFP) which has the majority members in the County Assembly.
