Gatundu Member of parliament Moses Kuria has refuted claims that Agikuyu community will not support Deputy President William Ruto’s presidency come 2022.
He said they will vote for him 100 percent.
“I want to refute claims by some people that we will not support Deputy President William Ruto, as Kikuyu community we have decided that our presidential candidate no matter what will be Ruto and anyone who will do contrary will be disowned,” he said in Eldoret town, Sunday.
“We chose Ruto not because he is a Kalenjin but because he is a trusted leader who will transform the country and for sure nobody will get as many votes as the deputy president come 2022 presidential elections,” added the Gatundu legislator.
He, however, said they will campaign door to door to ensure that Ruto clinches the presidency.
“I want to assure my friend William Ruto that we will campaign for him overwhelmingly as a way of thanking him for supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta. Our support for him is like a cheque that we have already written and signed ready for banking,” noted Kuria.
He, however, called upon the opposition leaders to stop putting the country in politicking mood but instead concentrate on making the lives of the better.
“Politics has now gone, I want to urge my friends from the opposition to focus on development and let's meet at the ballot come 2022 where we will defeat them again,” added the Jubilee MP.
