Alex Kamitu who successfully retained his seat as Tala Member of County Assembly in Matungulu Constituency Machakos County has promised two major developments just days after winning the elections.
Construction of the Manza Bridge and issuance of free irrigation scheme structures to Tala farmers are the key major promises that Kamitu has given to Tala residents.''It's been a slow simmering, the sound of which went unheard over decades. Farmers in Tala, particularly marginal farmers, suffered in silence - closeness to the earth and its soil and to nature is imparts a certain strength of character that allows for enduring harsh circumstances. I will help the farmers in order to increase their yield and production, Kamitu said.Kamitu stressed on the importance of bettering farmers' lives once and for all saying that the farmers do not get adequate remuneration for their labor or produce.
Kamitu won elections for a second time after garnering3 414 votes while Boniface Muisyo had 3 318 votes.
