Addressing residents at Ndeiya Chief’s camp after visiting the farms, Koskei commended efforts farmers have made in the area to improve productivity. He stated that the introduction of greenhouse farming in the area has taken root and farmers were already benefitting from it showing that food security can be achieved.

The CS said a dam would be constructed in the area to help in farming activities. He mentioned that residents in the area were depending on agriculture and the only way to help was by having a reliable source of water for the farming activities.

Koskei advised the farmers to also embrace water harvesting and work closely with the agricultural officers in the region to increase farm outputs.

“I have walked around and I have loved the spirit of farming in this area. We have already identified a place for the dam and it will be done,” said Koskei.

Violet Njeri, a farmer in the area, said that the visit was due to the seriousness the farmers had put into the activities.
