Talks being proposed between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga are a waste of time, a top city lawyer has said.Ahmednasir Abdulahi said Uhuru was legitimately elected and should be sworn in.“Writing for the sake of it… Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta have to find a political solution to the problem ... what problem? A candidate refusing to accept defeat? Or a candidate refusing to take part in an election? These scenarios can never be a problem in a constitutional democracy,” Ahmednasir wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.Opposition NASA is pushing for talks between Uhuru and Raila to solve the current political stalemate in the country.The impasse was triggered by Raila’s constant call for the reconstitution of the IEBC before any election is held.The former premier is currently at the US and is expected to return to the country on Friday to a grand reception.Jubilee leaders say there is nothing the opposition and the ruling coalition can discuss now since Uhuru out-rightly won both the August 8 and October 26 elections.
