An Eldoret based lawyer wants claims by lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi that his life is in danger be taken seriously.Simon Lilan, who is also a Uasin Gishu senatorial aspirant further says thorough investigations need to be launched into the claims by the prominent lawyer.Addressing the press in Eldoret, Thursday, Lilan said with Ahmednassir claiming Director of Criminal Investigation Ndegwa Muhoro wants to kill him over a land case, there was need for an independent investigation over the matter and findings be made public as soon as possible."The DCI (Muhoro) cannot investigate himself, neither do I trust the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett to handle the matter," noted Lilan."I have been through such an experience and I know how it feels for someone to threaten to kill you and this why I am urging everyone concerned to treat Ahmednassir's fears with the seriousness it deserves," he added.Ahmednasir has already recorded a statement with the police claiming the DCI director Ndegwa Muhoro want to kill him for his continuous involvement and strong stand in a dispute on the Tatu City land in Kiambu County valued at more than Sh8 billion.He is one of the lawyers representing one of the parties in cases lodged in court over the land dispute.[Eldoret based lawyer and Uasin Gishu senatorial aspirant Simon Lilan speaks to the press in Eldoret, April 07, 2017.
