The 'league' aims to mobilise young people, government, the private sector, civil society and development partners in a campaign and football league to kick out HIV stigma.

NACC director Dr Nduku Kilonzo said anti-HIV stigma messages will be delivered both online and offline with help of the 'Maisha County League', given that stigma-free HIV testing and linkage to care and support will be offered each time teams play, courtesy of the campaign.

A total of 940 boys' teams and 470 girls' teams will compete for the national title for a period of seven months, after the campaign is launched at the Nyayo National stadium.

Stakeholders from various HIV prevention and fighting institutions are expected at the event which is celebrated on December 1, annually.

This year's theme is "Leadership. Commitment. Impact".
