Ailing Nyamira governor John Nyagarama has reportedly disowned a signature under his name dismissing from service County Secretary Erick Onchana..
In a letter issued by the deputy governor on Thursday, a day the governor was out of office for medication, Onchana is asked to report back to his former Lands Ministry station.
"You actions or omissions and performance is not satisfactory and may put this office into dispute in service delivery," read the purported letter from the governor.
The embattled CS has accused the deputy governor of violating the law by 'forging' a non existing signature in the name of the governor for his dismissal.
And Nyagarama, who is currently hospitalised in the US, is said to have disowned the letter, a move that could put him at loggerheads with his deputy Amos Nyaribo.
"The governor has dismissed the letter and the county secretary should resume his duties. The signature in that letter wasn't his," said a source who spoke in confidence.
Nyaribo has temporarily taken over duties of the governor since Friday but the controversial letter is purportedly written by the governor. Even though he is on acting capacity, he cannot however hire or fire officers.
