Nyamira governor John Nyagarama may have after all dropped his earlier declaration that he has nothing to do with ODM party and Raila Odinga.
In a heated exchange with former Embakasi South MP Ishrad Sumra last month, Nyagarama is said to have dumped Mr. Odinga.
"I talked with him and he said he has nothing to do with the party or Raila. Seems he has moved on and nobody will kill him for that," said Sumra.
For months now, the ODM boss has been snubbing party events before he jetted to US for treatment.
But insiders from ODM party says the governor has formally notified his boss over the death of his son and invited him formally to come for funeral.
"The governor has personally notified the party and its leadership about the tragedy and we are doing something to condole with him. Definitely, he is in good terms with the leadership," said an ODM lawyer in confidence.
Interestingly, Nyagarama's reconciliation with the party hierarchy comes at the time ODM is keen to de-whip some of its members.
Throughout 2017 post election crisis, Nyagarama was at all times moderate and never staged any anti-government demonstrations.
