Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has dismissed claims that he disowned his ODM party last week when he was asked top support a youth meeting.
So vicious were the allegations, that even Raila Odinga was forced to respond to party members who have since shifted their allegiance.
And on Tuesday, Nyagarama who is undergoing medication in the US said that the reports were misleading the public.
"I had to respond so because I am out of the country. You can't just expect me to support initiatives yet we pay monthly subscription.
"All party members do pay and from that kitty, we expect activities to be funded. Those dragging my name are working with opponents to destroy my reputation," he argued.
Former Embakasi South Ishrad Sumra accused Nyagarama of undermining the party last week when youths held a meeting at the offices in the county.
According to Sumra, Nyagarama denied Raila in presence of party officials despite being elected on the party.
