Airtel has managed to scoop at least 11,000 new subscribers in Homa Bay county in the last two weeks since opposition NASA called on its supporters to boycott services offered by telecommunication giants Safaricom.
According to Airtel South Nyanza regional manager Robert Mayabe, the demand for Airtel products is at an all-time high.
“We are targeting 1500 clients per day for three days to register in Kisii and have a backup of 800 more Airtel sim cards in case of shortage and later move to Nyamira and Migori counties,” he said.
In Kisii, Airtel has managed at least 900 new sim registrations per day after count Governor James Ongwae sponsored the product for locals.
