Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa has dismissed reports that there is a plot by her ODM party to de-whip her from the Parliamentary Service Committee (PSC) in which she is a member.
Jumwa who has publicly declared her support for Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid after the golden handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, said she has no differences with her party leader and that she is not aware of plans to remove her from PSC.
Addressing the press in Malindi, Jumwa indicated there is no conflict either between her and her party since she supports Ruto in the spirit of the handshake and the country's unity.
The former Kilifi County Woman Representative cited calls by Odinga during this week's PG meeting in Shanzu, Mombasa where he asked all ODM leaders to support Kenyatta's Big Four Agenda and the Building Bridges Initiative, saying she is fully behind it.
"I have no conflict with my party or party leader," said Jumwa.
According to the lawmaker, she will continue supporting the Deputy President and the Jubilee government at a personal level regardless of the threats from any quarter.
"I want to make it clear that I will support William Samoei Ruto for presidency in 2022 at a personal level nothing will stop me from supporting him," she said on Thursday.
Other than Jumwa, some of the coast leaders who have shifted allegiance and publicly declared their support for him include; Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori - ODM; Jomvu MP Ali Twalib - ODM; Kinango MP Benjamin Tayari - ODM; Kilifi North MP Owen Baya - ODM; Nyali MP Mohammed Ali - Independent; and Kisauni MP Ali Mbogo - Wiper.
