Aisha Jumwa has dismissed plans to oust her from the powerful Parliamentary Service Commission position terming the reports mere rumours.
Jumwa was reacting to reports from one of the local dailies that Orange Democratic Movement had written to the Speaker of National Assembly seeking guidance on how to remove her from the position.
In a quick rejoinder, the Legislator said she was still treating the reports as hearsay until she gets official communication from the National Assembly Speaker.
Addressing journalists in her Constituency office in Malindi, Jumwa said she had no differences with the ODM party leader Raila Odinga and the party terming the move a creation of Suna East MP Junet Mohamed.
“Junet am ready for you. I have no conflict with the Party leader Raila Amolo Odinga,’’ she said.
Jumwa said Junet cannot threaten to oust her from the powerful commission, as her appointment was not a favour given to her.
“We are part and parcel of ODM everybody knows it, we delivered in ODM the politics are far, it’s not a favour it’s our right nobody will be threatened,’’ she said.
The vocal legislator said ODM did not elect them as they are the ones who chose to be in the party.
“My stand will not change, it's my constitutional right and I have freedom as stated in the Bill of rights chapter 4. As Jumwa I will support William Samoe Ruto in 2022,’’ she said.
Jumwa maintained that she had made no mistake in choosing to support the DP and no one shall issue threats to her or others supporting him.
