Kiambu women representative Anna Gathecha has urged women to respect the political institutions in the country.
Speaking at P.C.E.A Kimuri Church of the torch on May 29, the women representative responded to Kilifi woman representative on her insulting statement where she referred President Uhuru Kenyatta as a ‘jamaa’.
“It was so disrespectful to all women in the whole country for Aisha Jumwa referring to our president as a ·jamaa·. She is not her boyfriend and she should apologize to him and us women for that. I am really ashamed because of her words, whether IEBC is in the offices or not, rules must be followed,” she said.
Nyokabi was speaking in the presence of many Jubilee supporters who were present including former Cabinet Secretary for Civil Service Francis Kimemia, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa, Ol Karao MP David Kiraho, Kikuyu ward representative Binary Winaina and Nyandarwa Ward Rurii Representative Wahome Wa Kamoche among other leaders.
She was seconded by women guild representatives urging Aisha Juma to respect the office of the president despite her being a CORD supporter. ‘
"We will not just sit in power that we have been given by our people and still a shame them by our words. It is so disrespectful to hear and watch her abuse the office of the president. She should watch her tongue and seek forgiveness,” she concluded.
