The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET)and businesspersons have asked former students of various school to come and develop their former institutions.
The union Secretary General Akello Misori accused the national government of failing to improve the infrastructure in schools.
The union now wants alumni of various schools to get more involved in developing their former schools as a way of complementing the national government’s failed efforts.
Mr Misori was speaking during the launch of the Wangapala Old Boys Associations at a hotel in Kisumu, which was graced by over 100 former and current students of the school.
“Former students should play a key role in the development of school’s infrastructure since most of them hold influential positions currently. The government may not do enough to achieve this,” said Misori who is also an old boy at the school.
