Opposition coalition NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi has cautioned electoral agency IEBC against proceeding with the October 26 presidential repeat polls.

In an opinion editorial published with The Star Newspaper on Saturday, the ANC leader noted that the recent pronouncements made by IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati and former commissioner Roselyne Akombe prove that the commission is unprepared for the exercise.

"All peace-loving Kenyans have been horrified by developments at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission over the last 48 hours," he opined.

"She (Akombe) has told the world that the so-called election being organized by the IEBC is a sham. She has shared inside information revealing how the IEBC has been hijacked and is run by Jubilee Party, through commissioners and top secretariat officials who coordinate with the Jubilee campaign in all but name," he added.

NASA leader Raila Odinga has since withdrawn from the presidential race, citing lack of electoral reforms within the Opposition.

The outfit has also asked their supporters to boycott the upcoming polls.
