[Photo: Citizen Digital] Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Dr Roselyn Akombe has told off NASA over claims that the commission is sympathetic to Jubilee party saying Iebc is independent and is working hard to deliver a free, fair election.Speaking to Debe La Citizen on Sunday, Akombe said that the commission cannot also be bribed to favour any side during the August 8 General elections."We are here to serve Kenyans to the best of our abilities without favouring any political player. Those that are also saying that we have been bribed to favour a particular side are very wrong. We left plum jobs outside government to come and serve our country and therefore, nobody can buy us with any amount of money," said Akombe. She also assured the country that the election will go on as planned despite the legal hurdles the commission has been facing lately over the award of ballot printing tender."Even it will require us to be awake throughout the remaining days to the election date to see that the election happens, then may it be. Kenyans have no cause for alarm. We have overcome more and demanding challenges and what is left is much easier for us to handle," she added. This comes even as President Uhuru Kenyatta asserted on Sunday that not even the courts will stop the country from holding elections on the set constitutional date of August 8, which is less than a month away.
