Former IEBC Commissioner Roselyn Akombe is now under pressure to quit her UN job for politics, over nine months after running away from the country.
The outspoken commissioner shocked the nation months to October elections when she quit office while on duty in Dubai.
And back at her Nyamira home, a group of professionals now want her back home to run for gubernatorial seat in 2022 polls.
"Our county is now being managed by dishonest individuals whose main aim is to make money. We want Akombe to come back home for these divine duty," said Stephen Mwancha, Secretary General for Nyamira Professional Association.
He added: "What we need is integrity and honesty. What Akombe did manifested how competent she is in handling public affairs thus suitable for gubernatorial job."
Already, Governor John Nyagarama is under immense pressure to quit in what residents say is inability to spur growth due to ongoing infighting within the county.
Recently, Akombe's secret report to IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati, in which she recommended on how to reform Kenyan electoral processes, was lauded by members of the public.
