IEBC Commissioner Dr Roselyn Akombe resigned from the electoral agency, early Wednesday morning.

Akombe quit, when she had traveled to Dubai, to inspect printing of ballot papers, at the Al Ghurair printing and Publishing firm, after which she flee to New York.

Despite issuing her resignation letter, Akombe confirmed the resignation, through a phone call on a local television station, saying she was frustrated and that her life was under threat.

Akombe indicated that IEBC secretariat is very divided, on partisan lines, but took credibility on chairman wafula Chebukati, saying he is a good person, but under siege.

According to her, Chebukati means well for the country, but his efforts to ensure a credible election, are being thwarted by some commissioners, who are opposed to a credible poll.

She said she would not stand seeing the country hold an election yet the country is divided.
