African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) winner Esther Akothee has denied claims she will be vying for the Women Representative seat in Homa Bay County on a Jubilee Party ticket in 2017.
This comes after rumours started doing rounds on social media platforms that the Give It To mMe hit-maker was contesting for the seat.
Her close relationship with the former prime minister and cord leader Raila Odinga made many people think that she had borrowed a leaf from him.
Akothee, however, took to instagram to shed more light about the rumour.
The talented and wealthy singer affirmed that she is not joining politics.
“Everyone has a story about your success, no matter what you do human beings are unpredictable, they will always say something behind your back," she said.
"What they plan to do to you is completely different from when they say. Now they want to plan on how to fill their empty cups in 2017 so that when I’m seen with a new bicycle it’s bought by Jubilee, they are planning to come to my home saying it was built by Jubilee."
She added: “They will say the ballot boxes are hidden in my house so that the jealousy in them can be fulfilled. They can’t understand why Migori County loves m.”
