Mombasa-based artiste Akothee has expressed her disappointment with fellow Kenyan artistes whom she claims asked to perform at her grandfather’s funeral at a fee.Akothee’s grandfather passed away on October 30, 2017. “Just learnt that people see me in terms of money, you contact me to come perform at my grandpa’s funeral as an artiste and expect me to pay you! Do I look like a promoter?” asked Akothee in an Instagram post on Friday.The wealthy singer and business lady slammed Kenyan artistes terming them hypocrites and asked them to stay away as she never asked for their help. “Did you see me share any pay bill number! Let no one tag me any pay bill no. Next time stay in your corner too! Kenyan artist are hypocrites nkt, if you want to come mourn with me! Get yourself to Rongo, if not just stay in your lane! Stop calling me for price negotiations,” she added.Akothee had on various occasions shared pictures of her grandfather, which depicted the fondness she had for him.She has in the recent past encouraged Kenyans to care for their ageing parents.
