The police Service has issued a warning to the public to be extra vigilante more so during the holy month of Ramadhan set to begin next week.
"Al shabaab adherents who are running away from Somalia and believed to have sneaked into the country, and pretending to be part and parcel of the larger peaceful Kenyan population, are hiding behind that notion to carry out an attack," IG of Police Joseph Boinnet said Tuesday.
He said the police and other security organs are on high alert to ensue Kenyans are safe.
Meanwhile, the warning came even as police released photographs and names of terror suspects who they said are dangerously armed and believed to be ruthless in their attacks and are among a terror group that carried out murders of three Nyumba Kumi leaders in Kwale County.
Police singled out the Arabia area, Finiel wak in Mandera County and Likambere, Kolbio in Garissa County as well as Boni Forest in Lamu County as the most dangerous spots citizens must be wary of as the terror gang plans to execute an attack.
